Gold Decal Printing Process

Gold/silver decal is mainly used for glass & ceramics, after firing in oven, (low temperature under 200 celcius degree), it has very good adhesion on glass & ceramics. Now our company newly developed UV ink for primer & covercoat, make the printing job more efficiently.

Step1, Screen Printing Primer/Undercoat on water slide decal paper, by 250 mesh count. Printing area is same with image. Then dry for 4-6 hours.Complete drying. Or you can dry by UV dryer if use UV ink.
A, the undercoat is mixed with hardener(mixing proportion is 9:1), can be used within 8 hours after mixing.
B, workshop condition: humidity is 60-75%, room temperature is 23-26 celcius degree..

Step2,Hot Stamping by hot stamping roller machine(as below picture),
On decal paper.Complete drying.

Step3, Screen Print "Covercoat/Varnish", by 80-250 mesh count, printing area is 0.5-1mm bigger than "undercoat area". Need complete drying, about 4 hours nature drying.
Or you can dry by UV dryer if use UV ink.
This is printed as release, which is low caustic, so could not destroy stamped coat. Have good separation with peel off lacquer and a good assistor of water resistance and alcohol resistance. Note that cover coat should be printed after complete dry of last step "hot stamping". The thicker film of covercoat, the more stable quality.
Notes: the effect of gold stamping is related to stamping machine and gold foil.
The varnish is mixed with hardener(mixing proportion is 9:1).

Step4, Screen Print Covercoat"peel off lacquer 601A" by 80 mesh count. Complete drying. Gold decal paper is done and ready for use after this step.

Tips for Plate Making and Printing:
1, Coating emulsion on screen plate for 4 times.
2, Printing squeegee by 70 or 75 degress.
3, If clients do embossing decal sticker, the embossing powder and gold stamping undercoat should be mixed and grinded subject to right proportion.


Storage:
1)  Protect from pressure,dampness,heat and sunshine.
2)  Place in the ventilated,shaded and cool place.
3)  Storage time: Two years
